Many of us fellow SportsToilet fans who bleed purple and gold have been struggling all day to grasp how big of a loss occured last night. During the first half of Game 4 of the NBA Finals, the Lakers of past decided to show up. Fluid passing, hard cutting, defensive prowess that would not be affected by whoever was on the court. The old Lakers showed us how they became the #1 seed in the West. For a group of us SportsToilet fans, talk of Game 5 already began. I mean how could we blow a lead like this? Minute by minute,missed shot after miss shot, lack of effort after turnovers the game was eventually tied. Grasping to the edge of our seats the game had literally gone down the SportsToilet. The City of Los Angeles has been struggling all day to recuperate. The car flags still fly in the air and the fans in this city still believe. No team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit. So why try now right? WRONG. If the Lakers play like that first half they cannot lose. If the Lakers can miss 20 of 26 shots in the second half and still be in it who says they can't be the first to pull off this miraclous comeback. There is also a guy by the name of Kobe Bryant who thrives of these opportunities. Just when you count Kobe out, The Mamba strikes. If the Lakers do what they are supposed to do and win at home on Sunday then we go to Boston. I suspect that Game 6 will be of great difficulty, but the Laker's warrior team mentality can provide the breakthrough. Then we arrive at Game 7 in which the stars will rise and anything can happen. So as us fellow Laker lovers go about our weekend we have just a glimmer of hope left. The ray is purple and gold and it says don't give up, don't ever give up.
