Leg of Oden
Who's fault is this really? ESPN? The Blazers front office? Maybe people like myself who bought into the hype?
Someone is to blame for the one worst draft day decisions possibly ever. Greg Oden, has officially done nothing in his NBA career and it appears he is likely to not accomplish much during his playing days. Not since the Pistons chose Darko Milicic over Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Chris Kaman, Kurt Hinrich, David West, Josh Howard and Mo Williams, just to name a few. The Blazers had a bright future with a slew of young talent and an energetic fan base thirsty for a contending team. Why choose a guy with 2 different size legs when you can choose one of the future stars of the NBA, Kevin Durant. So far, Durant looks like a 10 time all-star, a face of a franchise and a very healthy young man. Why gamble on a 40 year old college senior? Was Kevin Duckworth not available in free agency 2 years ago? Whatever the case, it's sad that Greg Oden was ineffectual in his long awaited debut against The Los Angeles Lakers and it's even worse that Greg Oden may have suffered the second major injury of his very young NBA career. We wish the Old/Young Man a speedy recovery from the sprained foot because after all the hype, I would love to see this guy play.
